HOPEミーティングに参加するには
第3回HOPEミーティングへの参加を申請する場合には、「第3回HOPEミーティング参加募集要項（国内選考用）」に示されている方法に従い、申請書を作成・提出して下さい。

Applicants for the Third HOPE Meeting should fill out an application and submit it to JSPS in the manner stipulated in the “Application Procedure for the Third HOPE Meeting.”

*Participants from outside Japan will be nominated by the cooperating institutions. For more details, please visit here.

募集方法
本会議への参加申請を希望する者は、下記の(A)または(B)を満たす必要があります。また、過去に本会議に参加した者は対象としません。

(A) 申請時に我が国の大学等の学術研究機関（ただし、文部科学省科学研究費補助金の申請資格のある機関に限る。）に所属する博士課程学生(※)であること（国籍は問いません。）

(B) 日本国籍を持つ者又は我が国に永住を許可されている外国人で、海外において大学等の学術研究機関等（以下、「海外の研究機関等」とする。）に所属する博士課程学生であること

※「博士課程学生」とは後期博士課程学生を指します。

また申請者は、上記に加えて、以下の要件を満たす必要があります。
・物理学（及び関連分野）において、英語での質の高いポスター発表及び討論が可能であること。
・自分の専門だけでなく幅広い学問分野に対する高い関心を有していること。
・多様な文化や価値観、エスニシティを尊重できること。
・会議全日程に参加できること。

Applicant must satisfy one of the following two requirements.
Those who have participated in the previous HOPE Meetings are not eligible.

(A) Be a PhD student at a Japanese university or research institute that is eligible to apply to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) for funding under the Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research Program (Kakenhi). Persons of any nationality may apply.

(B) Be a PhD student at an overseas university or research institute who is ether a Japanese citizen or has permanent residence status in Japan as granted by the Minister of Justice.

* “PhD students” mean graduate students enrolled in a 3-year doctoral course or in at least 3rd year of a 5-year doctoral course

In addition, the applicant must also meet all of the following requirements:

    • Be able to provide a high-quality poster presentation related to the subjected field in English
    • Have a strong interest not only in their own discipline but also in wide range of fields
    • Possess respect for diverse cultures, values, and ethnicities
    • Be able to participate in the entire Meeting programs

本会の受付期間
(1)国内の所属機関を通じた申請（所属機関を通じた申請）
(2)グローバルCOEプログラム（GCOE）、または世界トップレベル研究拠点プログラム（WPI）採択拠点を通じた申請（GCOE/WPI拠点を通じた申請）
(3)海外の研究機関等に所属する申請者による個人申請(日本国籍を有する者または我が国に永住を許可されている外国人のみ)

※申請時に国内の研究機関等に所属している場合には、必ず所属機関又は所属拠点を通じて提出して下さい。申請者個人から本会へ直接提出した申請書は受け付けません。

(1) Referrals from Affiliated Institutions in Japan.
(2) Referrals from Centers under the Global COE (Centers of Excellence) Program (GCOE Program) or World Premier International Research Center Initiative (WPI Program)
(3) Direct Application Submission from Overseas (only for individuals with Japanese citizenship or permanent residence status)

*If you are an overseas PhD student at a university or research institute in Japan, please submit your application to the secretariat of the university or research institute. Applications submitted directly to JSPS are not accepted.

提出場所
本会規定に基づき次の経費を負担します。

(1) 国内所属機関から会場への往復交通費
※海外機関に所属する方の日本国内までの往復航空券の費用は本会は負担いたしません。

(2) 宿泊費および食費、研究所見学等の参加費

JSPS will cover the following costs for all participants based on its regulations.

1) Travel expenses in Japan
* Please note that JSPS will not cover the international airfare for PhD students who belong to overseas institutions.
2) Meeting Costs
- Lodging and meal expenses
- Excursion costs

※上記の受付期間は所属機関・拠点から本会に申請書類が提出される期限であり、申請者が所属機関・拠点に申請書を提出する期限についてはそれよりも前である可能性があるので、注意してください。
※郵便等で送付する場合、封筒に「第2回HOPEミーティング申請書在中」と朱書きすること。

From August 23 to September 9, 2010  (9:00-17:30)

* The above period is for the submission of candidate referrals by the institutions. Students should submit their applications to the administrative office of their institution/center well in advance of these dates. Candidates should also check with the administrative office as to their institution’s own application period.
